Smile Charity South Sudan successfully conducted Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) awareness activities in Duk and Twic Counties during 2025. The initiative aimed to strengthen community understanding of protection principles, promote accountability, and ensure that vulnerable populations can safely access humanitarian services.Through community sensitization sessions, stakeholder meetings, and engagement with local leaders, women, youth, and persons with disabilities, participants learned about their rights, expected standards of conduct for aid workers, and available reporting mechanisms for concerns related to sexual exploitation and abuse. The activities also included orientation sessions for staff, volunteers, and community focal points on the organization's Code of Conduct and safeguarding responsibilities. Information materials were distributed to increase awareness and encourage confidential reporting of incidents. As a result, communities in Duk and Twic Counties demonstrated improved awareness of PSEA principles and greater confidence in reporting concerns through established complaint and feedback mechanisms. These efforts contribute to creating safer and more accountable humanitarian programs for all community members.Smile Charity South Sudan remains committed to promoting dignity, protection, and accountability in all its interventions across South Sudan.
